David Callaway is a Philadelphia-based artist whose process focuses on conscious and unconscious splashes and mark making that display the conflict of expressing natural instincts and control.
Experimenting with new techniques and ways to communicate thoughts and ideas through imagery, his work can be described as conversations and windows, not windows to the outside world but a window to one’s inner self.
His body of work ranges from small works on paper to larger scale canvases. The subject matter or starting point of his paintings are an attempt to create a lasting moment and reflect interconnectedness with the web of life and a desire to move others to look more deeply at the natural world.
