  • Born in Rizhao, Shandong Province China, Zhen Guo graduated from Shandong Art School Fine Arts Department in 1976.  She attended the China Academy of Fine Arts and graduated from the Painting Department in 1982, staying on as a teacher.  In 1986 she came to the United States, studying at the San Francisco Art
    Institute. In 1987 Guo was a guest artist at York University Art Institute in Toronto Canada, coming to New York to open the Guo Zhen Studio in 1988.


    Zhen Guo is a female ink artist active in the international art world, and an Asian American contemporary female ink art pioneer. Her art embraces the abstract and conceptual, utilizing techniques from painting to sculpture and installation, expressing the interaction of society and the environment with individuals, and especially the place of women.

     

    Zhen Guo has held many solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums in the United States, China, Korea and Taiwan has received numerous awards. She is a member of North American Artists Association, the American Professional Artists Association, the Chinese Artists Association and she has been a visiting lecturer at colleges and art schools in America and China. Her work is known to art-loving people and serious collectors worldwide. Zhen Guo lives and creates her artworks in New York City.
